Long before cell phone and the internet, town criers were charged with the spreading of local news, food was prepared over open flames, and goods were traded from peddler to peddler across the nation.
Today, we’re going to get a glimpse back into those pioneer days from 1776-1825 as we attend the 49th Annual Yankee Peddler Festival in North Lawrence, Ohio – just South of Akron and Canal Fulton, Ohio. This event happens each year on the first 3 weekends after Labor Day.
We’ll be strolling through more than 75 acres of wooded paths visiting various peddlers and viewing a huge amount of handcrafted goods from weavers, woodcarvers, blacksmiths, pottery makers, leatherworkers, jewelry makers, and more.
Everything here is handcrafted by the exhibitors. It’s extraordinary and something you must experience. There is something here for everyone of all ages.
So, let’s start this show off with a bang- Right here on History and relics!
