The Football & Baseball Careers of Larry Bettencourt & Babe Barna and their shared Game Used Bat

Collecting vintage baseball memorabilia is one of my favorite things to do and it’s always cool when you find a piece that actually has two stories to tell versus only one. And that’s the case today as I recently found this late 1930s-early 1940s baseball bat used by Larry Bettencourt. But, it was also later used by Babe Barna.

Although these two men definitely have a lot in common including both having played college football with each having a chance to go pro as well as going on to play baseball in the major leagues, it doesn’t appear they ever played on the same team together nor played on the same team but in a different year – which adds even more intrigue to this great relic and great story about these two athletes. So, pull up a chair and relax and let me tell you more – right here on history and relics.
