That’s right – The World Series Champs of 1936 and 1937 headed up by future Hall of Famer’s Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio get beat in an exhibition game by a Class C Farm League out of Akron, Ohio called the Akron Yankees. The game took place on Tuesday June 1, 1937 at League Park in Cleveland.
The Akron Yankees were only around from 1935-1941 but never had a losing season and were in the playoffs 5 of their 7 year existence winning one championship in 1940.
