The 1930-1940s Yankees was a force to be reckoned with. The individual power and dominance from the likes of Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Frank Crossetti, Bill Dickey, Red Rolfe, and Joe Gordon was undeniable. But like with any team, you need those foundational players who bring in the strong backbone, readied support, and consistency that wins championships. And certainly, the Yankees had some of the best of those players as well including one we’re spotlighting today - Tommy “Old Reliable” Henrich.
So, join us today as showcase Tommy Henrich - who was also the last surviving teammate of Lou Gehrig. We’ll share highlights of his life and career as well as a special segment on his hometown of Massillon, Ohio where a local artist has kept Tommy’s legacy alive and well.
